With a strong background in both governmental and non-governmental work settings, I am confident in my ability to contribute to your organization’s mission and make a positive impact on maternal and infant healthcare outcomes.

I have graduated from Addis Ababa University and Jimma University in BSc Midwifery and an MSc in Maternity and Reproductive Health Nursing respectively. Over Seven (7) years of professional experience, I have held different positions in both governmental and nongovernmental settings, gaining valuable skills and knowledge in assisting childbirth, assessing fetal wellbeing, providing postnatal care, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care.

In my recent positions, I have worked with German Leprosy and TB Relief Association, Doctors with Africa CUAMM, World Vision Ethiopia, and Fayyaa Integrated Development organizations (FIDO) specializing in maternal and infant health in underserved communities for more than three (3) years. This experience allowed me to gain valuable insights into the challenges faced by vulnerable populations, particularly in resource-limited settings. Through this work, I demonstrated my ability to effectively engage with communities, adapt to diverse cultural environments, and advocate for the rights and well-being of mothers and infants.

Before my NGO role, I have been senior lecturer in Mattu University and worked in a government-run obstetric facility as a Senior Midwife where I actively participated in the provision of safe and quality maternity care services. In this role of more than 4 years’ experience, I conducted antenatal examinations, monitored labor progression, and provided emotional support to expectant mothers, ensuring that their birthing experience was as smooth and comfortable as possible. Additionally, I was responsible for training and mentoring junior midwives, contributing to their professional development and ensuring the delivery of optimal care.
