Hi There Am John

My name is John Akanlou, I hail from Ghana-West Africa. I hold a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Mathematics Education and I have taught Mathematics in high schools for the past 8 years with enough experience in my subject area and classroom management most especially in handling disruptive behavior among students. I also hold a Qualify Teacher Status from the Department For Education, UK which qualifies me to teach in any part of the United Kingdom. I have my transcript evaluated by Spantran to meet USA degree equivalency.
I chose to become a teacher because I love to change life's, inspire dreams and push the limits of humans most especially these young vulnerable ones, that is , to Nurture, raise and teach them to become responsible in their family, Workforce and Greater community. My teaching strategy is to use variety of methods and resources to cater for different needs of my students according to their strength and weaknesses. My classroom management is unique in the sense that it is base on Mutual respect, Positive reinforcement and Clear but high expectations. I love to create a supportive and all inclusive environment which foster growth and collaboration. I communicate effectively with both my students and parents through parents-teacher meetings, emails, phone call etc to get the best for their wards. I am patient and persistent in helping my students when they are emotionally down in a classroom by talking to them in private and better still find help from my superiors when behavior or action persist. Extra curricular activities is what defines me even though my task is to teach Mathematics but I find delight in joining sporting activities as I am currently the supervisor of the track and field events of my school. My professional development as a teacher is key and therefore participate in state or district educational programs with certificates to show. Planning and Organization is one unique skills I have got, before I step foot into my classroom, I take into consideration the kind of students I have in my custody and plan my lesson to suit each individual needs. I know your wards are the greatest assets you have as parents and school management and therefore I treat them with maximum respect. Infact I have a lot to say but will be appropriate to discuss this during an interview for a teaching position. I just can't wait to be part of Educators in this school district for the upcoming school year. Thank you and I look forward to working with you soon.
