Hi There Am Masca

Am Masca Uwamariya, I am Rwandan. I awarded masters in agricultural extension at Egerton University, Kenya on 29July2022.  I hereby apply seeking for a job in agriculture. I have skills and experiences inworking in agriculture. This job offer will broaden my extension skills and equip me with managerial skills and aid me put my school acquired knowledge into practice pleasure.

In addition, I hold a bachelor Science degree with honors in crop production from University of Rwanda (UR), College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (CAVM)/ Busogo Campus in 2017. These four-year undergraduate program in agriculture has ultimately formed the foundation of my perseverance in achieving a deep knowledge in the field of agriculture. I have great admiration of World Agri and I would like to be part of the team to bring a positive impact to the extension in agricultural inputs and services regional scoping.

I have experience in monitoring and evaluation for example I worked as monitor and evaluate in performance of teachers in Primary school through presence, preparation, pedagogy, participation in CAMIS and pupil learning gains as supervisor under Poverty Action (IPA), STARS(Supporting Teachers Achievement Rwanda Shool) and University of Georgetown. Additionally, I worked on data collection under SOS Kura Umenye (Education &Care) Project in Collaboration with five SOS Villages Rwanda M&E in Gasabo, Gicumbi and Musanze District in 2022. For Monitoring and Evaluation to find out how those students from primary and high capacity school know English and calculate mathematics.

From 1 March 2022- 30 September 2022 I worked in DOT Rwanda as a Digital champions coaching at Huye District with refugees and Host Community under GIZ in Rwanda.  To teach them how they could apply digital on their business like those people who are doing agribusiness and others who are doing business not related to agriculture. Most them they did not know how they could marketing what they are doing through social media and others but Now they are marketing everywhere through online. 

Also, I worked as research for more than three years in data collection under NM Research Training Center Rwanda, MASTERCARD RUFORUM among smallholder potato farmers in Molo Sub-County, Nakuru County, Kenya in 2020-2021, at the Egerton University Tatton Agriculture Park for a period of one year in Training and Research Farm in January2020 to January 2021. The results found that Tatton Agriculture Park produces high yields due to most students involved on different activities.

Since 1 January 2019 to 30 July2019 in Rwanda, I worked on Coffee processing as Technician at RWACOF/Ngamba station in Kamonyi District, where I was checking the quantity and quality farmer’s suppliers with purpose to produce good quality. Same activity under Reserve Force at Muhanga District.

After completed my bachelor’s I worked at Sendika Ingabo as interns  at Muhanga District in Rwanda as consultant  on Cassava plantation among smallholder farmers in Muhanga district, Cyeza Sector on how they could reduce pests and diseases on cassava plantation through training, field visits, farmers field schools and demonstration different technologies could apply with purpose to reduce these issues which is limit them to produce high yields, this done for one year, Since 1 October 2017 to 30 October 2018.

I worked on Maize plantation with smallholder farmers in Muhanga district, Makera village. To found out how farmers apply optimum quantity of fertilizers and pesticides on Maize in the last year of undergraduate 2016 in Rwanda. 

I am a young hard worker, committed, and self-motivated, quick learner, good team player, and honest. I believe my chosen profession will enable me to fulfill all of my desires to help others, to continuously expand my knowledge base and skills and to travel the world.
